On the afternoon of January 6, the Urban Railway Management Board (MAUR – investor) said that the site handover rate at Metro No. 2 project (Ben Thanh – Tham Luong) reached more than 83%.

The construction area of station S9 – Ba Queo, Tan Binh district has been handed over.

Previously, by the end of 2021, District 1 with 29 cases had handed over the premises to the locality.

The biggest problem is currently in District 3 because compensation payment procedures were previously implemented, then the project’s legal regulations changed, so the locality had to update the compensation policy.

According to MAUR, in 2021 the progress of handing over premises to Metro No. 2 is slower than before, only increasing by 29 cases.

Currently, the investor recommends that relevant units soon advise the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to resolve the approval of the land price adjustment coefficient in District 3, and at the same time increase the mobilization of people to receive compensation and soon hand over the premises to

Metro No. 2 has a total investment of more than 47,800 billion VND, more than 11 km long, with 9 underground stations and one elevated station.

According to the plan, Metro Line No. 2 will be put into operation in 2026. However, in addition to delayed site clearance, the project still has some problems such as signing an appendix to the consulting contract and appraising loan conditions.
