The Math – News A0 block, High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences (Hanoi National University), formerly known as the high school Math block, was established on September 14, 1965 by decision of the Prime Minister.

In 1993, the Block was assigned the additional task of training gifted students in Information Technology and changed its name to the High School Math – Information Technology Block.

Mr. Nguyen Vu Luong, Principal of the High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences, said that since its establishment, students of block A0 have won 110 international Olympic medals, of which 70 medals in Mathematics and 40 in Information Technology.

`Many of our students have become world-famous scientists such as Professor Ngo Bao Chau, Professor Dam Thanh Son and many professors at prestigious universities, many excellent leaders, and many successful businessmen.
